About Roustabout Jobs

Maintenance Roustabout - Your pay will start at $47,000 p.a. The Roustabouts basic duties include general upkeep and cleaning of rig's deck area including scraping and painting.
Roustabout - Your pay will start at $54,500 p.a. This position basic duties include directing the crane operator as loads are lifted and moved above the deck, delivering equipment to the rig floor as needed and keeping pipe deck and main deck areas clean and tidy. He also assists Roughnecks on the drill floor when needed. This typically happens when the Roughnecks are too busy to get they meal breaks. The Roustabout will have his meal, then go to the drill floor allowing one Roughneck to get his break. Then each Roughneck swaps out until everyone has his meal. Roustabouts are often members of the first aid stretcher party.
